Destination: Lapchi, Rolwaling

Lapchi stands as a significant spiritual mountain revered as the hermitage of Milarepa, situated in the Rolwaling region on the Nepal-Tibet border at an elevation of approximately 4850 meters. This trek provides a unique opportunity to explore the remote and lesser-known corners of Nepal, offering a sacred experience akin to Kailash and Tsari in the Himalayas. The monastery within the Lapchi area embodies a rich religious and spiritual legacy spanning over 400 years, deeply connected to Milarepa, the revered twelfth-century Buddhist sage and poet associated with the Kagyupa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

Alongside its pilgrimage significance, the Lapchi trek treats visitors to breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including the Rolwaling valley, Tamang village, serene alpine lakes, hanging glaciers, moraines, lush pastures, cascading waterfalls, and a majestic backdrop of snow-capped peaks like Mt Melungtse, Mt Dorje, and Mt Tashi Lapcha, making it a sought-after destination for nature enthusiasts and spiritual seekers alike.

Please be aware that there is no network coverage in this part of the region, making it the perfect location for a meditation retreat.
